International Air Transport Association (IATA) will hold its ninth international training seminar for aviation fuel specialists in Novosibirsk on 21-25 August. The training, which is organized by the IATA Fuel Quality Pool (IFQP), will take place at Gazpromneft-Aero’s fuel-servicing facility (FSF).
Gazpromneft-Aero’s FSF in Novosibirsk is one of the four sites in the world certified by IATA for training specialists in aviation fuel supply. This is the only training seminar of its kind in Eastern Europe.
The main objective of the seminar is to familiarize specialists working for airlines, fuel suppliers, fuel servicing facilities and fuel depots with the international standards of fuel admission and storage as well as the actual fueling process.
The theoretical part of the training will focus on studying modern systems for managing quality and safety of aviation fuel supply and implementation of the technological process: from the admission of aviation fuel at a fuel depot to the completion of fueling the aircraft. IFQP experts will talk in detail about operating modern fueling equipment and an aircraft’s centralized fueling system as well as the latest changes in the industry’s international regulatory base.
The practical part of the seminar will involve activities for participants at fuel depot services to enable them to better understand the infrastructure of fueling systems, including: railway ramps for fuel delivery, tank batteries, pumping and filtration stations, filling racks, as well as fuel & lubricant laboratories. The training will also include a session on mobile fueling equipment, and the participants will be able to observe the aircraft fueling process.
The participants will perform quick tests to determine the parameters of fuel quality; they will also bench-test special equipment and learn more about internal accounting and documentation processes in accordance with international norms and standards.
Upon completion of training, the participants will be issued international certificates.
