The Anse Aux Poules Bleues Studio of Michael Adams in the Southwest of Mahe island in the Seychelles received the visit of Mr. Didier Robert, the President of la Region de La Reunion, last Saturday as Mr. Robert was on a final tour of the island after a private visit to Seychelles accompanied by Mr. Jean-Francois Sita, the Vice President of la Region de La Reunion and holding the portfolio for culture.

The private visit of Mr. Didier Robert and Mr. Jean-Francois Sita and their families in Seychelles enabled them to visit the islands of Mahe, Praslin, La Digue, and the private island of Denis. “We wanted Mr. Didier Robert and Mr. Sita to appreciate the diversity of our islands. This was important for them to better understand how Seychelles and La Reunion complement each other as a twin-center tourism destination,” Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, said at the Seychelles International Airport after saying goodbye to the La Reunion dignitaries.

The Indian Ocean Island of La Reunion and the Seychelles both form part of the Vanilla Islands concept. La Reunion is known for the exceptional beauty of its mountains and volcano, whereas the Seychelles are known for the diversity of its islands, having both granitic and coral islands, and for its clean and white sandy beaches and clear turquoise blue seas.

La Reunion is, from this year, a co-organizer of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands “Carnival International de Victoria” that is staged annually in the Seychelles and Pascal Viroleau, the Head of the La Reunion Tourism (IRT) was himself in Seychelles last week to finalize the arrangements for the Indian Ocean Region’s unique carnival of carnivals.

At Anse Aux Poules Bleues in Baie Lazare, the President of La Reunion and his delegation were greeted by Michael & Heather Adams and given a tour of their studio. Cultural exchange possibilities were also discussed by Mr. Jean-Francois Sita and Mr. Michael Adams with a possible visit to La Reunion by the Anse Aux Poules Bleues artist.

Michael and Heather Adams presented to Mr. Didier Robert a Seychelles painting as a souvenir of his visit to his studio.
